You’re reading Close All Tabs, a weekly newsletter where we collate the best bits of screen culture from around the Internet. In other words, we’re online 24/7 so you don’t have to be. Mwah!

It’s been a big week on the Internet, not least because Elon Musk as Wario [link redacted] is now what I see in the corner of my room during sleep paralysis.
Anyway, here I am, distracting myself by yet again opening another 184082048248 tabs on a browser that is — let me tell you — suffering. Here’s what I have open this week:
5 Jupiter’s Legacy tabs
Famously, Josh Duhamel is THEE dad at all times but especially in this show, which I can only describe as equal parts daddy issues and superhero antics. It’s no surprise that everyone loves Chloe, the straight-shooting, unbelievably chaotic daughter of the family who hates her father (yes, once again, Josh Duhamel) who, within one episode, has minted her place in the ‘good for her’ cinematic universe by doing whatever she pleases, from ingesting random substances from the street…
…to punching people through walls.
As I said, good for her!
For fans of the original Jupiter’s Legacy comic books — by legends Mark Millar and Frank Quitely — @Millarworld has been posting a series of side-by-sides comparing the hand-drawn characters with their on-screen counterparts to show how their superpowers come to life:
Speaking of superpowers, I, too, want ~ ethereal tinkling ~ to accompany me wherever I go:
Finally, over at Inverse, Isaac Feldberg speaks to Mark Millar about the ethical quandaries at the heart of Jupiter’s Legacy — whether, in a hypothetical world with superheroes, it’s right for them to intervene in human catastrophes (so essentially the butterfly effect but with more capes) — as well as superhero parenting. “What if Superman and Wonder Woman were your parents?” Feldberg asks. Honestly, I would probably have less tabs open.
2 Monster tabs
First premiering at Sundance, this adaptation of Walter Dean Myers’ award-winning book — the tense, stirring tale of a Black teen wrongfully implicated in a murder trial — feels as urgent as ever, speaking to the sweeping injustice of the justice system. It also stars John David Washington, finally, in a role where I can hear what he is saying, and for that I am thankful.
Here’s lead actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. talking to Vice about the intrinsic challenges against Black excellence: “The expectation is so much greater than what they should have to be,” he says on his character in Monster. “That becomes way too much pressure in a society that is trying to oppress you every chance they get.”
And here’s director Anthony Mandler telling Complex about how A$AP Rocky broke his nose while going too hard on a stunt. This is what we at Close All Tabs call dedicated king behaviour.
1 The Woman in the Window tab
I can’t believe the event movie of the year is coming out this Friday, and I only have one thing to share, which is this insane — INSANE — Woman in the Window ad spotted in Brooklyn by a Who? Weekly podcast listener. In case you are wondering, this ad is in a real apartment window, you are the titular woman, and you are watching Julianne Moore and Gary Oldman in the other window from your window.
I cannot tell you what I will do when this movie comes out but I can tell you that I will be screaming.
Okay, 1 more tab
This typo. I will now only answer to “Ma” (which is, of course, streaming now on Netflix).
