If you’ve ever wondered how much Dwayne Johnson weighs, according to CinemaBlend, he’s a whopping 118kg. I don’t think this is too surprising given his appearance – and WWE past – but for comparison, that’s three Red Kangaroos; heavier than a Giant Panda; or the equivalent of 6000 pieces of sushi!!!! That is all to say, that Dwayne Johnson is a very BIG man.

Red Notice
Much like Dwayne Johnson, Red Notice should be added to the dictionary definition of Big. Best described as a Lupin meets Indiana Jones meets National Treasure explosion, this is a blockbuster that’s unafraid to give us EVERYTHING. There’s a prison-break, a bullfight, Nazi treasure, hidden bunkers, a sadistic arms dealer, bazookas, bejewelled eggs, Fast and Furious-esque car chases, and even Gal Gadot wielding a spear. There’s so much going on at one time that you can’t even take a second to process how utterly insane it all is – one second, you’re part of a helicopter heist in Russia, the next you’re at a masquerade ball in Valencia.
It's completely and utterly bonkers, and the longer you watch, the crazier it gets. The twisty action-flick might lean into all the tropes you’re familiar with – think Ocean's Eleven and James Bond – but as Netflix’s biggest film ever, Red Notice takes it to a whole other level. The scenes that Director Rawson Marshall Thurber weaves are as richly dynamic as the characters within them, using cutting-edge technology to create a fully immersive experience “never been done before in the history of cinema.” You’re sucked in from the moment you press play, innovation and cinematic magic combining in a transcendent affair that’ll leave your jaw dropping in awe.
Adding to the astound of it all are Reynolds and Johnson who play the perfect crime-committing duo. They have the perfect dynamic – they’re full of banter, quippy, and borderline flirty, something that leaves me wondering whether they’d make the ultimate power couple??? Reynolds plays Nolan Booth, an infamous art thief, and Johnson plays FBI profiler John Hartley – who in a twist of fate end up working together to hunt down Cleopatra’s three jewelled eggs. However, constantly one step ahead of them is a mysterious crook who goes simply by The Bishop (Gal Gadot). The Bishop is the ultimate Bond-esque villain, a cunning con-woman who’ll have you constantly wondering: Will they succeed? Are they finally ahead? What’s The Bishop got up her sleeve next?
There are insufficient words to describe Red Notice. On the Richter scale for insanity, this is a film that would be off the charts – so outrageously crazy, wild, and completely bonkers, you’ll be hypnotised by the spectacle of it all. Packed to the rim with treasure, thievery, suspense, and jaw-dropping twists (if you know you know), you won’t even realise you’ve been at the edge of your seat until the credits start to roll. Even if you just come for the cast, you’ll be mesmerised by the scale of it all.
Red Notice is streaming tonight from 7PM AEDT.
Watch these too:
Army of Thieves, for another action-packed heist. With a Hans Zimmer score, Zack Snyder’s influence, and nods to Norse mythology, this film is a complete feast for the senses.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, for a classic action adventure. This classic has it all: there’s ancient artefacts, Harrison Ford in a fedora, and a whole lot of booby traps.
This Is a Robbery: The World’s Greatest Art Heist, a documentary miniseries that retraces the steps of two con men from the 1990’s. From robbery to capture, this is a bonkers story of deception, organised crime, and one big art haul.
Lupin, a witty french caper inspired by the adventures of the fictional Arsène Lupin. In this series, Omar Sy plays a cunning gentleman thief, who sets out to avenge his father – who is falsely accused of stealing a priceless necklace – by stealing the necklace for real.
I can’t stop thinking about:
How Dwayne Johnson called out Ryan Reynolds on a billboard for using his mom’s Netflix account. Also Ryan’s hysterical reply.
People Magazine’s sexiest man alive Paul Rudd. Sorry Chris Evans, but you can’t beat an ageless wonder.
This video of Jamie Dornan performing Everlasting Love at Belfast’s premiere while Catriona Balfe and Jude Hill dance along. When’s my serenade coming?!
These photos posted by Malala Yousafzai, after she tied the knot with Asser Malik in a small Nikkah ceremony.
Lady Gaga’s first TikTok of her dress for the House of Gucci red carpet. Quoting one Tiktok comment, “Father, son and HAUS OF GAGA”! Gaga-licious!
This video of Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend (Lauren Sanchez) meeting Leonardo DiCaprio. Also Jeff Bezos’ hilarious response threatening to throw him off a cliff.
